Description: The west end of the NS (ex NKP) Frankfort rail yard is the location of a unique signal at the
junction of the NS and CSX. That signal is THE reason for this page. There are only about 3 trains per day in town.
Photo opportunities: You can get a relatively close shot without trespassing on RR property just northeast of the
junction on Vandalia Ave.
Gregariousness quotient: low

Personal observations: This is just a unique signal and one reason for a railfan to visit Frankfort if you were in the
area near Indianapolis. This page is also an example of how one photograph can generate an interest beyond all
expectations. The photograph below inspired me to stop in Frankfort, IN on a recent railfan trip to Terre Haute.
Thus I created this page and shared some photos with Todd Sestero of RAILFAN GUIDES of the U.S. who did some
further reseach and created HIS page. All of which proves that all kinds of railfanning can be fun.
